Fall 2011

ArenaThe first track off of Dolorata's debut album, "You've Gotta Want It" has been placed in Sony Pictures Film, Arena, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz. Arena was released on DVD this Fall, 2011.

We are very proud and excited to announce that our very own, Dawn Richardson, will be heading out on a European tour with Tracy Chapman this summer! All the ladies of Dolorata are so happy for Dawn and we will, absolutely, miss her insane drumming skills while she's gone!

With that said, we are very thankful to have Tosha Jones of LA based band, The Randies, filling in on the skins while Dawn is gone. We welcome Tosha, also a force to be reckoned with on the drums, and extend our gratitude to her for rocking with us!

Dolorata's debut album "Believer" was reviewed in Curve Magazine.

Dolorata violinist, Emily Palen, joined the Foo Fighters on stage at Red Rocks in Denver Colorado playing an extended solo on the song "The Pretender". She is honored and grateful to have shared this moment with these amazing musicians. See a video of Emily's performance with the Foo Fighters »

Dolorata is now available on Pandora. If you don't know about Pandora, it is an Internet radio service where you can listen to your favorite songs and find similar songs using the science of the Music Genome Project. Check it out!

Dolorata Believer Album CoverOn May 9, 2008, Dolorata released their fist full length album, Believer. Dolorata is currently in the studio recording our first album! Still high from our amazing benefit show at Thee Parkside, we are laying down tracks with a fierce enthusiasm, and we can’t wait for you to hear it. The CD release date will be announced soon, so be sure to check back. In the meantime, if anyone would still like to contribute towards the album costs, we would be so grateful.

Emily Palen performed in The Foo Philharmonic Orchestra with Grammy award winning band, The Foo Fighters, under Zeppelin master John Paul Jones. Palen was chosen as one of 15 finalists to be part of the 2nd annual My Grammy Moment competition. Her video can be seen at and

Dolorata's Emily Palen's work with Silveroot, a three piece Americana band out of Calistoga, will be featured on the release of Silverroots's firstalbum in early spring.
